New Documentary Film Release: “Mississippi Speed Record: An Epic Adventure”

Many of us in the paddling community are familiar with the epic, Guiness World Record-setting trip of Scott Miller, Paul Cox, Wally Werderich and Judson Steinback down the Mississippi River to set the World Speed Record of 16 days, 20 hours and 16 minutes. Many of us at the IPC were honored to have team member Wally Werderich of Yorkville as our featured speaker at our 2023 Gathering of the Paddlers in West Dundee, and he gave an excellent presentation about their adventures.

Wally and Paul practice sleeping in a canoe. An essential skill for completing an “Epic Adventure”

During last year’s dinner presentation, Wally showed us clips from the upcoming documentary film made of their adventure, titled “Mississippi Speed Record: An Epic Adventure.” Here’s the trailer. Recently, the film has been released to the public and is available for everyone to see. There have been multiple screenings already, and you can purchase your DVD for $25 at https://wildernessmindset.com/mississippi-speed-record/. Digital streaming is also available.

Check it out! It’s a thrilling, adventurous story of what it takes to paddle a 2,000 mile-plus river in just over 16 days!
